AS568 200 Series O-Rings — 0.139 in Cord
A 0.139 in cord — 3.53 mm — makes the 200 series the general purpose hydraulic size in North America. Cylinder end caps, valve bodies and pump covers are drawn around this cord far more often than any other, and the -214 near the middle of the range is probably the single most-ordered O-ring in the standard.
200 Serieswhat is in this family and where it ends
One cord covers this entire range, and that range is why the inside diameter tolerance grows the way it does across the family while the cord tolerance stays put — the two are separate columns in the standard and they move for different reasons.
Note that the inside diameter tolerance is not a function of the inside diameter alone across the standard; the same bore can carry a different tolerance in a different series. The per-size figure is printed on each page rather than derived from the diameter, and any page whose bore appears in another family as well says so.
This is 84 dash numbers, from the -201 at 0.171 in (4.34 mm) inside diameter to the -284 at 17.955 in (456.06 mm). Every size in it carries a 0.139 in (3.53 mm) cord.
The numbering in this family is continuous across -201 to -284: there are no missing dash numbers inside the range.

Inches are the standard’s own units; millimetre values are conversions — inch × 25.4, rounded to two decimals — and not the ISO 3601-1 metric sizes. Outside diameter is a reference value derived as ID + 2 × cross-section; the two diameters the standard fixes are the inside diameter and the cord.
Tolerances are the per-size figures the standard gives, not a value derived from the diameter — the same inside diameter can carry a different tolerance in a different series, and each page prints its own.
Reading a 2xx dash numberwhat the digits do and do not tell you
Every dash number in this family starts with the digit 2, which is what puts it here. The remaining two digits are its position in the family, counted upwards by inside diameter — they are not a size code, and nothing in them can be multiplied or read off to get a dimension. Two rings whose numbers differ by one can differ by a hundredth of an inch or by a quarter of one.
A cord family is named for the cord its sizes are built on, and the name is a fair description of every size in it only when the family has a single cord throughout. This one does — it carries 0.139 in (3.53 mm).
